Head of Cinema Technology, British Film Institute
Dominic Simmons has spent over 20 years at the prestigious British Film Institute (BFI), and for the last 10 years has managed the technical operation at one of the most complex cinema projection installations in the world, covering the full gamut of projection technology from Nitrate film to laser illumination, and from 16mm to IMAX 70mm. The BFI has one of the world’s largest collections of archive film and operates two highly successful venues in London’s South Bank in BFI Southbank and the BFI IMAX. Dominic also has technical oversight for the London Film Festival, which presents up to 250 films across 15 screens in the capital, including gala screenings at the Royal Festival Hall. As head of cinema technology, Dominic is responsible for ensuring the highest presentation standards are met across all BFI screens and events.

Senior Technical Manager, Toronto International Film Festival
James King has been with the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) as a technician since 2003 and as technical manager of the TIFF Lightbox since its opening in 2010. James has honed his festival expertise both locally, and internationally for Hot Docs, Images Festival, Inside Out, Blue Mountain Film Festival, as well as the Abu Dhabi International Film Festival and the current El Gouna Film Festival in El Gouna, Egypt. In addition to these roles, he has designed and coordinated numerous cinema installations, including significantly re-engineering the audio and control systems at the TIFF Lightbox.

Moderator – EMEA Cinema Sales Manager, Christie
Phil has been with Christie for over 24 years and is responsible for cinema projector and audio sales in the UK, Nordics & Africa. Over the years, Phil has also worked in developing the Pro A/V, control room display and rental and staging markets. Phil spent 10 years in South Africa building and developing Christie sales for the African market and returned to the UK 10 years ago. Aside from going to the cinema he also enjoys live music, playing guitar and walking his two dogs on the beach every day.
